It started with a chandelier. Long strands of crystal, a gilded crown, tiers of tall candles. Roger and Philippa found it at an antiques dealer, fell for it on sight and brought it home, with the thought that one day they would have a house to go with it. Years later, French designer Frédéric Bonnin, known for his work with Minakani, took its intricate, celestial feel and drew a winter night sky of stars, comets and planets. Frosted, delicate and a touch magical, and made for long winter evenings.
Fir needle and green leaf arrive first, crisp and fresh, with a lift of fruit. Amber, conifer and spice follow, adding warmth and depth. Sandalwood, moss and vanilla settle slowly into the space, creating a soft, comforting atmosphere.
Hand-poured in small batches using a blend of natural and renewable waxes, it provides a clean, even burn and a consistent scent for up to 40 hours. Made to fill the living room, dining room or hallway.
Presented in a 100% recyclable aluminium tin, printed in dark grey with an engraved night sky of stars, comets and drifting planets. Compact enough for a shelf, desk or bedside table.
Made in Wiltshire
True Grace was founded in 2003 by Philippa and Roger Biles, and is still independently run from rural Wiltshire.
Every candle is blended, poured and finished under one roof, in small batches by our team of skilled artisans.
Village Christmas is our traditional Christmas fragrance, made here in Wiltshire. The print was drawn for us by French designer Frédéric Bonnin.

Taking a moment
Light it when the day starts to slow. Before you sit down, before you look at your phone. Give it a minute.
Trim the wick to around 5mm before each burn. For the first light, let it burn until the melt pool reaches the edges. This helps the wax burn evenly and prevents tunnelling. Keep it away from draughts and always place it on a heat-resistant surface.
The fragrance will build as the wax warms. Let it.
Im an event planner and bought multiple candles for a large NYE wedding and it made the entire space smell incredible. So now the couple will remember their wedding every time they light the scent.
What a divine smell, it is absolutely stunning, a classic I could breathe it in all year round. Anyone gifted this item would be a friend for life- thank-you for creating it !
Beautiful fragrance my daughters loved this especially being beautifully wrapped amazing service especially given the Christmas period thank you will definitely order directly again 😁
The True Grace candles have been a favourite of mine for years after being given a 12 days of Christmas as a gift years ago. Village Christmas is one of my favourite fragrances and I burn it every Christmas. Everyone comments on the gorgeous smell. Other favourites are Orangery, Fig and Library which I use year round. The best candles I've ever bought and I buy a lot! I like the sustainability of True Grace too. Recyclable packaging and you can now buy refills for the candle jars. Great!
Possibly my favourite True Grace fragrance which I use both at Christmas and in the winter here in the southern hemisphere. Rich and spicy but also a lovely clean scent. With the refills I can decant a little amount into the original glass diffuser bottle and refresh the reeds, so it lasts for a long time. It’s always nice to enter the room and become aware of it.
I absolutely love using fragrance cards either alone or alongside my diffusers. It gives an extra boost of fragrance and lasts for at least 2 weeks. Love village Christmas for the winter period and it just smells like quality.
Decided on a fresher fragrance this Xmas rather than the orange and clove smells I’ve had in the past. Love this but it won’t be going out until mid December to see us through the season and into new year.
Great tin, well decorated, Great fragrance without being overpowering. Can't wait to December 1st so I can light it and feel the house with Christmas fragrance. Same amazing quality as all the True Grace products I have tried.
I have been trying to find a fragrance that reminds me of a real Christmas tree. Unfortunately most on the market smell of pine disinfectant. However this really does reminder me of a real tree and all the emotions associated with that. I find True Grace diffusers and refills last a long time and worth the money. I love them I have them all round the house.
