Our Story
Truly Graceful: The name True Grace reflects the honesty, beauty and English elegance at the heart of our company.
Founded by Phillipa and Roger Biles in September 2003 as a celebration for their love of fine fragrance, True Grace’s origins can be traced all the way back to 1991 on a stall in Portobello Road Market in West London. Once renowned for scented candles, we have extended the range over the years to include beautifully scented diffusers, room sprays and other home fragrance. Adopting traditional methods of making, True Grace is stocked by department stores and lifestyle shops across the globe and is one of the few candle makers left in England.
The name True Grace reflects the honesty, beauty, and English elegance at the heart of our company. Many of our 46 fragrances take inspiration from the beauty of the English countryside. The fruits growing in the hedgerows, or the flowers blooming in the quaint cottage garden. These are all of nature’s delights, that to us, embody the Essence of England. Even our 100% recyclable tin candle packaging takes inspiration from the industrial aesthetic of the gardener’s humble tool shed.

Situated in rural Wiltshire, our surroundings inspire us to create
beautiful fragrances, and to also be mindful of our impact on the environment. Once based on 25 Calvin Street in London’s East End, we now manufacture home fragrance in our environmentally friendly factory, which in 2015 was awarded Carbon Neutral status by the Carbon Trust. The factory is at the heart of our mission to be a sustainable brand, powered by a combination of solar power and
renewable biomass. All our products are manufactured here utilising the skilled craftsmanship of our team, who collectively, hold a wealth of knowledge, and use traditional making techniques to produce stunning home fragrance.
“Moving to Wiltshire and being so close to nature helped us re-evaluate our business. We wanted to align it to our true beliefs and create something that was deeply meaningful for us.”
— Co Founder, Phillipa Biles
