There are some moments in the year that hold a quiet but profound significance. For many families who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a baby, Baby Loss Awareness Week is one of them.

This October, True Grace is joining with the charity Teddy’s Wish to create something special for this time of remembrance: the Wave of Light Candle.

Why the Wave of Light Matters

On 15 October at 7pm, families across the world pause to light a candle. Each tiny flame represents a life gone too soon, but together they form a global wave of love and memory, passing gently from one time zone to the next.

The ritual is simple, a candle, a moment of reflection, a shared silence, yet its impact is immeasurable. It is a reminder that grief is shared, that no parent stands completely alone in their loss.

A CANDLE WITH PURPOSE

To honour this moment, True Grace has designed a refillable candle that can be lit year after year. The vessel is simple, elegant and sustainable, created to be a keeper of memory.

Two fragrances were chosen for their emotional resonance:

Moroccan Rose, a soft floral with touches of Sandalwood and Citrus — bright yet tender.

Fig, a warm and grounding scent with notes of Amber and Wood — steady, comforting, and strong.

More Than a Gesture

The collaboration goes beyond symbolism. Every penny of profit from each Wave of Light Candle will be donated to Teddy’s Wish, supporting vital research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), neonatal death and stillbirth, and offering comfort to bereaved families.

Jennifer Reid, who co-founded Teddy’s Wish with her husband Chris after the loss of their son Edward, explains:

“Lighting this candle is a small but powerful act of remembrance and solidarity.”

For True Grace, too, this partnership is deeply meaningful. Co-founder Philippa Biles shares:

“We feel privileged to stand alongside Teddy’s Wish and the families they support. We hope every flame lit brings comfort, connection and hope.”

Lighting the Way Together

For many families, Baby Loss Awareness Week is a time of remembrance. With this collaboration, we hope it may also be a moment of connection, support and gentle hope.

Because when one candle is lit, it shines in memory. But when thousands are lit together, they form a wave of love that circles the world.
