The name True Grace embodies everything we stand for—honesty, beauty, and a timeless English elegance that runs through every product we create.

Founded by Philippa and Roger Biles in September 2003, True Grace began as a shared celebration of their love for fine fragrance. But the story goes back even further, to August 1991, when the couple opened a humble stall on Portobello Road in West London. From those early days selling handmade candles, their passion for scent has remained constant.

From the very beginning, True Grace set out to create a sustainable brand.

Originally based at 25 Calvin Street in Spitalfields, London’s East End, True Grace has since found its home in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Here, surrounded by countryside and inspired by nature, we handcraft our full range of candles, diffusers, room sprays, and home fragrance using traditional methods and responsible materials. We are proud to be one of the few candle makers still operating in England, with products now stocked in lifestyle stores and department stores around the world.

Many of our 25 signature fragrances are inspired by the beauty of the English countryside: hedgerows heavy with fruit, wildflowers in bloom, and the quiet charm of a cottage garden. These are nature’s fleeting moments, bottled with care to bring comfort, memory, and atmosphere into the home.

Even our packaging is a tribute to this spirit, our 100% recyclable tin candle vessels are designed to echo the practical elegance of a gardener’s tool shed, marrying industrial heritage with natural inspiration.

Crafted with Care, Rooted in Values

At True Grace, sustainability is woven into every decision. Our environmentally conscious factory in Wiltshire has been Carbon Neutral since 2015, powered by solar energy and renewable biomass. Every product is crafted with intention, using a blend of traditional craftsmanship and mindful innovation to create something truly lasting.

Fragrance is one of the cornerstones of the True Grace brand, and we create every scent according to one simple guiding principle: As it should be.

This means:

Natural realism in scents inspired by the English countryside and its flora.

Abstract complexity in layered blends that evoke mood, memory, and emotion.

To achieve this, we use a thoughtful balance of natural essential oils and ethically sourced fragrance oils. While natural oils offer authenticity, sustainably sourced ones allow us to;

~ Avoid unsustainable mass farming for rare oils

~ Create longer-lasting fragrances

~ Ensure a stronger scent throw and better product performance

By blending tradition with innovation, we stay true to our mission: crafting scents and products that are as beautiful, ethical, and sustainable as they should be.
