Meet Pure Oils, a limited collection of three natural fragrances to shift your state.
Most home fragrance does one thing: makes a room smell nice. That’s lovely, but we think scent should give you more.
Pure Oils is our limited collection of three scents, each with a job to do. Think of them like switching on a good playlist, or turning on a lamp instead of the big light – subtle changes with the power to shift the atmosphere and your whole mood. There’s Fields to help you focus, Lawn to decompress, and Moorland to clear your head.
The trio of fragrances share the same scent architecture, drawn from one family of 100% natural essential oils: bitter orange, basil, rosemary, cedar, patchouli, galbanum, geranium, lavender, chamomile, petitgrain, eucalyptus, vetiver and carrot seed. Each scent draws on its own selection, blended to create three intentionally different moods.
Alchemy is the ancient practice of turning ordinary materials into something greater than the sum of their parts, with the right knowledge and care. After all, an essential oil, in the wrong hands, is simply an essential oil. But in the right ones, it creates an atmosphere.
Pure Oils is inspired by a familiar landscape and a familiar need. The open fields when your head feels full. Sitting on the lawn at the end of the day. The moorland air that makes you want to take a deeper breath.
- Philippa Biles, Founder
The right hands at True Grace belong to our founder Philippa, who trained under Mandy Aftel, one of natural perfumery’s leading names. Aftel’s approach is rooted in natural materials and the belief that every ingredient carries a history worth knowing. That’s what stayed with Philippa: not just how to blend, but how to understand what she’s blending. She reformulated all three scents herself (you might know them as our former Functional Fragrance range). Everything in them is there on purpose, and she can tell you exactly why.
So here they are: Fields, Lawn and Moorland. Each one comes as a candle, diffuser or fragrance oil.
Blended to bring focus back into focus, Fields is for when your brain keeps wandering off. This is the long walk that sorts it out. Straight out of the garden gate, bright bitter orange lights up the air, basil and rosemary rush past, green and sharp, as cedar and patchouli ground you steady from beneath. It’s the kind of clear head you’ll usually only find outdoors. Fields plants both feet firmly in the grass, so you can simply get on with it.
Philippa’s Notebook
- Bitter Orange - opens it up, bright and sweet
- Basil - green and sharp, traditionally tied to focus
- Rosemary - biggest reputation for attention
- Virginian Cedarwood - warm and grounding, steadying
- Patchouli - an anchor, for balance
- Galbanum - sharp, traditionally clearing
- Carrot Seed - quiet, restorative
Made to quiet heady thoughts, Lawn is the off switch. This is the end of a long day, out on the grass, no socks. Geranium and lavender settle around you soft, plush and green, chamomile smooths out the day, warm cedar keeps you steady. It’s the sun on your face, turned up to the sky. Lawn is the art of doing nothing, and doing it well.
Philippa’s Notebook
- Geranium - balancing, softens the mood
- Virginian Cedarwood - warm and grounding, steadying
- Lavender - calming, most studied for rest

Built to clear the air, Moorland is for when you can’t hear yourself think. This is the walk across an endless horizon, the moor opening ahead in every direction. Petitgrain and eucalyptus whip through the air cool and green, vetiver engulfs you, deep and earthy, while basil and rosemary clear your head. It’s the first deep breath you’ve taken in ages. Moorland is the reset, and a bit of quiet, for once.
